Observation Policy.

*Observations may be done on all children unless written objections have been received by the Pre-school. This includes observations and photographs taken by students to support their studies.

*All new parents will be told about observations and given the opportunity to object.

*Written observations will be kept locked away, unless they are being used to plan sessions.

*The main purpose of taking observations is to enable staff to plan sessions more effectively.

*Information gained during observations will not be shared with anyone outside the group without parent'/guardians' written consent.

*Parents/guardians have a right to see any observation.

*Children will not be made aware that observations are being carried out.

*All staff who carry out observations will receive "in house" training before they start.
